Luton Angling Club Weekly News Report for the Bedfordshire, Buckinghamshire & St Neots Cambridgeshire Area - Week Ending 17th March 2019

 ANNUAL GENERAL MEETING

Our Annual General Meeting will be held at Stopsley Working Mens Club, Putteridge Road, Luton, LU2 8HG on Thursday 28th March 2019 at 8pm There is a bar available and free parking on site. Don't forget to bring your membership book otherwise you won't be able to vote. Please try and attend if you are a club member

WORK PARTY
Our latest work party was on our Biddenham Ouse section where the volunteers set about replacing some of the platforms which were showing signs of rot. Fortunately some years ago we purchased a huge pile of engine/gearbox pallets and whilst they require two people to lift them they have proved invaluable and are fairly easy to unbolt and replace. Many thanks to all those who attended as without your efforts outside contractors would need to be employed at considerable expense to the club.
The next work party scheduled for Saturday 30th March at Eaton Ford has been switched to Biddenham to continue with the replacement platforms.

BECKERINGS RESERVOIR
The only report this week from a wet and wild week of weather was from regular contributor Jack Rose who landed a 29lb 4oz mirror.Weighed & witnessed with two sets of scales, lowest weight taken as one set had it at 30lb

MEMBERSHIP DEAL
Our 15 for 12 new membership deal is proving very popular with almost half of the available memberships now sold (existing members are guaranteed a place next season)
New members joining now on line via our web site www.lutonanglingclub.co.uk (postal applications also accepted) will be able to fish from 1st March 2019 until 31st May 2020 at no extra cost so you will benefit from almost 15 months fishing for the price of 12 months at the 2019/20 subscription rates. All prices are on the web site.
Initially when joining you will receive the 2018/19 book which is valid until 31st May 2019 and when the 2019/20 book is back from the printers that will be posted to you in April/May.
This deal is very limited as when all of the current membership books & keys are used up the deal will end & be removed from the web site immediately so be quick as we will not be printing more 2018/19 books.
Coming in the 2019/20 season subject to landowners permission and lease paperwork will be a toilet at both North House Lake and Beckerings Reservoir also a locked canal car park is on the cards plus more stocking. We recently stocked Beckerings Reservoir with Barbel, Chub & Ide with 20+ carp into North House Lake the season before and its our aim to keep stock fish going in to replace those that naturally die off through old age. Agreed at our Board Meeting on 14/3/19 we are ordering more larger carp in the 30lb range subject to availability to be stocked into Beckerings and North House as soon as possible.
