* Keys changed every year make our venues extra secure.
* Still no premium for fishing nights on any of our waters.
* Secure off road parking at many of our venues.
* No Guests for the 2019/20 season its now members only except on our day ticket venues no one wants venues busy with non members taking your favourite swim/s
* Money has now been earmarked for an otter fence at Beckerings Reservoir.
* A locked car park for members use at a location on the Grand Union Canal hopefully finalised for early in the new season
* Well tended Great Ouse river venues at Biddenham, Eaton Ford, Wyboston and Lavendon no jungle warfare needed to get to these river sections.
* Another 300m of fishable bank on the River Great Ouse at Wyboston cleared during April 2019 with more to follow.
* A completely new bailiff team at North House and Wyboston who are doing a brilliant job often patrolling during the night.
* More money being spent on the Wyboston track
* 3rd rod dates now the same for Beckerings Reservoir and North House Lake
* Photo ID prevents fraud by members passing books between friends which means more money goes into the club for stock fish etc. Now on the front cover for 2019/20 so easier for our bailiffs to check. Book is invalid without an ID photo.
* Rule breakers will continue to be severely dealt with and we make no apology for the number of bans we imposed during the 2018/19 season which included life bans from Luton Angling Club. We hope our hard no nonsense approach makes our venues far more pleasant places to fish.
* Affiliated to MKAA present your LAC membership book at the tackle shop to receive a discount when joining MKAA

55yr & older Wednesday Social Matches

If you're a Luton AC member 55yrs+ and free on a Wednesday then why not join us for a series of social matches. We will be inviting members of Tring Anglers so that we can alternate venues and also look at a couple of commercial fisheries. This will commence on Wednesday 15th May at the Globe Inn just outside of Leighton Buzzard, postcode LU7 2TA. The draw will take place in the car park at 9.00am. Fishing from 10.00am to 3.00pm. Please park at the far end of the car park. A small charge is made by the pub to park in their car park. The match is free to fish and there are optional pools but do bring your Luton AC or Tring Anglers membership books.

NORTH HOUSE LAKE
Paul Sweet fishing North House Lake managed 3 including Pecs which came out a week ago at 30lb. Paul couldn't weigh any of his fish as his scales are broken but an angler close by did weigh the common during the night for him at 25lb

.
James Harrison tempted a 25lb common from North House Lake along with a low double and managed the mirror called Popeye at 26lb 2oz mirror in a previous session a couple of days before which was his first fish from the lake and came during a storm.

Nicholas Goodman dropped into North House Lake for a quick after work session and caught one of the stockies at 8lb 8oz. This fish was stocked 5/10/17 at 5lb 11oz so that's a 49% increase in just 18 months! Keep good photos of the stockies coming as its great to chart their progress, thanks.

Phil Randall continued his recent success back on Luton AC waters when he arrived at North House Lake for a 2 night session after 10-12yrs away. Spending 2 hours finding a clear spot he was happy with and within 30 mins he was into a 27lb 2oz common which was immaculate apart from damage to its tail caused by line through being weeded during a previous capture which we are already aware of. Just to dispel any otter myths the North House otter fence is checked at least every week and has held firm against otters for many years!

Rod and Charlie fished North House Lake during the Bank Holiday weekend and Charlie had an 18lb 5oz Common followed by one of the stockies at 8lb 5oz and the biggest a common at falling to Rod at 28lb 7oz.

BECKERINGS RESERVOIR
Beckerings Reservoir has been quietly producing 2lb+ roach for quite a few years and we believe theres now a good head of fish around the 2lb mark. Colin Holmes caught a 2lb 2oz specimen this week.

Phil Randall landed a 24lb 5oz mirror.

KEMPSTON LAKE
Phil Randall had a nice dark common of 20lb 4oz common last week.

New Member Peter and his 11yr old son Toby fished Kempston Lake for the first time this weekend and caught a 18lb 6oz mirror.

GRAND UNION CANAL
Ty Foster enjoyed the weather last weekend made even better with a nice mirror

while his friend Jamie Gladish had a couple of commons the smaller one is another of the 3000 stockies that went in at Grove & the Globe

FISHERY SECURITY
Just a polite reminder that most of our waters are accessed via locked gates so that undesirables are kept out who are intent on stealing fish/equipment/breaking into cars/flytipping and in the case of North House to keep the otters out! We have had a few instances of gates not being secured or sometimes left wide open which cannot continue so do please ensure that the gates are always locked properly once you've gone through one. Many thanks.

RUBBISH LEFT AT VENUES
Photo received from the bailiffs at Kempston Lake Unfortunately people still think it's OK to leave rubbish, 2 bottles of water, half tin sweetcorn, pot noodles an a nice bag of s*@! even though there are two toilets on site! How is this acceptable, we have already given life bans during this season and don't need anglers like this as members, please join another club! The bailiffs will be logging members details and taking photos going forward to try to catch the culprits as this has proved successful this season. Many thanks to the majority of good anglers who continue to take theirs and others rubbish home its much appreciated.

GRAND UNION CANAL
Tim Grover landed his new Grand Union Canal personal best at 25lb 5oz

Jamie Gladish managed a couple of Grand Union Canal mirrors from Grove. The lovely fully scaled is one of the 3000 stockies LAC stocked at Grove & the Globe 7yrs ago at 2-3" which appear to be doing well. Due to the environment they live in some of the canal carp can end up looking rather the worse for wear as is the case with the other mirror Jamie caught. Treated with a carp care kit these damaged fish very often make a full recovery though.

Dexter & Florence fished the Grand Union Canal with their dad and each caught a brace of lovely perch. Struggling on maggot & failing to catch anything on the whip they changed to worm on the tip for Dexter and worm on the float for Florence which were both winning tactics. They used Mark Pollards/Hinders supercharged natural black as a carrier for the chopped worm towards the far side of the canal.

NORTH HOUSE LAKE
Brad William Evan-Hart tempted Pecs at 30lb caught at sunset on an Establend pop up on a stiff hinge rig

Andrew Harris banked The Wanderer at 27lb.

Thanks to Gavin Jones for sending in photos of one of the stockies caught Saturday morning. Weighing in at 9lb 6oz this mirror was stocked at 6lb 12oz on 5/10/17 an increase of 39% in 18 months. If you do catch any stockies please take the time to weigh and photograph both sides so we can log their progress, many thanks.

BECKERINGS RESERVOIR
Steve Brown had the pike known as Yellow Spot at 22lb which was Steves first pike!

Jack Vieira also had a pike which went 17lb 6oz.

Ed Weatherill landed mirrors of 24lb 10oz & 20lb 6oz which followed a 17lber during the night.

Mark Austin had a lovely 20lb common during a evening session.

Neil Cox 16-08 common off the top at Beckerings Reservoir sadly this fish already had someones rig in its mouth as the lead clip rubber had been pushed on too tight plus a hook in its tail!

KEMPSTON LAKE
Nicholas Goodman moved onto showing fish and caught a 20lb 1oz common.

REMINDER
Just another reminder that your membership book isn't valid unless it has your photo ID. This has been the case for quite a few years now and is aimed at eliminating fraud which we know used to happen with alarming regularity with books being passed around between friends & family. Losing membership income means less being spent on stock fish, upkeep of the waters and leads to higher membership fees etc. Bailiffs are even this morning still finding anglers without photo ID and you will most likely be asked to leave the venue, your details passed to the disciplinary committee and receive a subsequent lengthy ban from the club.
To make it even easier for the new season the photo ID will be on the front cover. Many thanks to the vast majority of members who are able to follow this very simple rule and to those that can't then please join another club.
