BECKERINGS RESERVOIR
Some excellent fish caught from the reservoir this week. Mark Sessions led the way catching the mirror known as the Prehistoric at 29lb 9oz which is thought to be the oldest carp in the venue.

Dennis Pratley upped his personal best to 29lb when he slipped the net under the strangely named mirror Donkey Head.

On the predator front Tackle Shed owner Les Reed caught a decent pike.

GRAND UNION CANAL
Callum age 12 used red maggot under a perch bobber made by his Dad to catch perch, skimmers, roach and gudgeon.
Callum lost a really decent perch after a long battle when the size 18 hook came out.

MATCH RESULT
Abbey Lads visited Grove Lock Marina on the GUC where wind and moored boats along the towpath made fishing difficult but weights were still good for November
1st L WILLIS 29-13 BREAM ROACH +1 HYBRID ABOUT 2LB
2nd K WARD 12-4 BREAM +ROACH
3rd P DEPPE 9-13 BREAM ROACH +1HYBRID ABOUT 2LB
4th D SMITH 9-12 BREAM +PERCH
 5th D WHILLOCK 7-1 BREAM+ROACH +PERCH

Hanwell fished the GUC at Pitstone a week back Sunday where the going was patchy at best.
Eight fished with a top weight of 9-3-0 being caught from first pound half way before swing bridge. Second 5-12-0 from opposite tree just before lock. Both weights mainly skimmers. After this weights dipped from 2-14-0 to as little as 0-5-0 from their current club champion fishing just past the swing bridge.

BECKERINGS RESERVOIR

Mark Sessions has been catching steadily from the reservoir recently with a 24lb 10oz mirror caught this week being the largest.

SOUTH LAGOON
Simon Heath has sent us photos of a couple of zander captures with the best one tipping the scales at 10lb 2oz.

Also fishing the Wyboston complex was Wojciech fishing with Team Ceks his 4lb pike wasn't the biggest hes had but is his 28th pike from Wyboston this season.

GREAT OUSE BIDDENHAM
John Morris found the pike in an obliging mood on Saturday. Lamprey was the favoured bait but sadly the good day was spoilt when a large specimen pike was lost at the net.

GRAND UNION CANAL

Callum age 12 fished the Grand Union Canal with his dad and caught plenty of perch, roach, hybrids and gudgeon in just a few hours at the Black Bridge. Successful tactics were red maggot on a size 18 hook & small insert waggler float. The fishing was great until sadly dozens of canoes 'ploughed' through the swim and it soon went dead.

BECKERINGS RESERVOIR
Gareth Evans caught a lean 8lb pike.

MATCH RESULTS
Abbey Lads were at Stoke Hammond on the GUC where Dave Whillock cruised it
1st Dave Whillock 18-14-0 bream and perch
2nd Liam Willis. 5-13-0
3rd Dave Smith. 4-15-0

Only 4 turned out for Edmonton & Tottenhams visit to the GUC at Chelmscote. Described as fishing poor 7lb 2oz won with 6lb 8oz second with the mudflats failing to deliver the expected big weights of bream.

VENUE CLOSURE
The river at Wyboston will be closed on Sunday 18th November for our annual predator match. The match was snowed off last December but Dave Brosnan who won in 2016 will be hoping to defend the trophy this year. We have a waiting list for this event so anyone wanting to fish it in 2019 should message us through the usual channels.
