John Gentle fished our river stretch at Biddenham on the 31/7/21 he had a Fantastic 14lb catch of Roach. All on corn at long range. His biggest roach was 1lb 6oz and plenty more at 6 to 8oz. He's a new member to the club and commented on what a well kept stretch of river it is.
Beckerings Reservoir
Martin Offer and his son Aston had a cracking 48hr session at Beckerings Martin caught Mirrors of 23lb and 21lb 12oz He also landed a 2lb 8oz Rudd on a 15mm boilie. His son Aston caught a 25lb 2oz Mirror Carp and hooked and lost a huge catfish in the early hours of Saturday morning. We won’t mention all the bream they caught!!
South Lagoon
Bill Ridgway fished the lagoon on 29/7 and had a nice bag of fish on the pole using sweetcorn as bait.

Wojciech and Filip Dunaj gave up some of their fishing time at the weekend to carry out some trimming of the undergrowth alongside the track and around by pegs 23-25 which has grown up rapidly in recent weeks our thanks to them for doing this.

Slipe Lane Pits - Railway and Lea Pit
We have been informed that Railway and Lea Pit have now re-opened following the recent spawning and potential water quality issues. Because of high levels of Ammonia in Railway Pit the bailiffs are asking members to limit the amount of bait that they use. They recommend 1kg per angler please be sensible to prevent further issues.

Match Reports
Wednesday Match Report Slapton 28th July 2021
Ten Luton members met today in the car park at Slapton for our Wednesday match. It was a warm muggy morning with a threat of thundery showers when we set off to walk along the towpath to our swims. The morning had a rain shower as we started, and there were a few claps of thunder and a heavy rain shower or two in the afternoon, but the weather generally stayed kind and those fishing didn’t get drowned!
Two opted for the short walk and fished the Winding hole towards Horton while the rest fished from just before the lines to the Iron bridge.
We had a few well-behaved boats during the day, with none after half past one.
Richard Gibbs started on a waggler over and first cast hooked a decent slab, which rolled on the line and threw the hook. Going over again the float buried and line tore from the reel at an alarming rate before the hooked Carp came adrift. Not a brilliant start!
Dudley Frankland started fishing Corn on a tip rod before switching to worm and taking four decent Bream and some nice roach. Jim Tookey fished Hemp and pinkie to take a good mixed bag, while Chris Howard fishing Punch, hemp and tare enjoyed his day taking some very nice Roach. Dennis Hunt took fish on Pinkie nearside and Caster over.
All who fished enjoyed the day on the bank, and Ray our new angler who only started fishing last year weighed in 3lb 11oz, having caught his record number of fish in a single session, Well done Ray keep it up.

Oakwood Sensas League - 3rd Round
The Third round of the Oakwood Sensas League was fished on the Grand Union Canal last Sunday.
Butch Murphy again reports a good match using Bragenham Side, Section 2, the top end of Three Locks and Slapton.
The weights were patchier than earlier rounds this week and Bream dominated the weights in the match, perhaps due in part to the 10C temperature drop that occurred Friday night and the thundery weather making the fish less inclined to feed.
Top weight overall was by B. Bray (Atlas) from Section 2 at 21lbs 1oz, with the second by T Boyce Jnr (Atlas) at 17lb 14oz coming from Slapton. Third was C. Robinson Oakwood Purple at 16lb 6oz from Section 2. There were a number of other good double figure weights taken in the match
