North House Lake
Paul Parkinson was on North House on Saturday for a 24 hour session and managed this lovely 22lb 10oz mirror. It gave him a good fight. It was caught on a bottom bait with a little pva stick. Looking back at the 2017 stockies, this looks like number 8, which was stocked at 8lb 2oz.

Beckerings Reservoir
New member Grayson White had a great afternoon on the reservoir , he caught carp of 14lb, 10lb, & 2 at 18lbs.

Lavendon Mill
Neville Hunt fished Lavendon Mill Monday night through to Tuesday morning. He caught all of the usual fish expected at Lavendon, with this 8Ib bream being the best of the bunch.

Grand Union Canal
Lee Waring caught this chub from the Grand Union Canal recently. He says he's had a few nice chub out of the stretch.

Our Kingfishers were on the Canal bank again at Three Locks on Saturday afternoon in lovely sunshine.
Alex who was out with us for his second coaching session was using his newly elasticated Maver pole and his own seat box for the first time. He learnt to set up his box correctly and demonstrated he could set up his pole and plumb the depth properly, all things he had learnt to do correctly on his first session two weeks ago.
He then started to fish using Pinkie as bait, laying the rig in correctly and loose feeding sparingly. Alex was soon rewarded by some quality fish, Roach, Rudd, Perch and Bream all coming to the net, and Alex ended the session with over 30 fish. His best fish was a Bream of over 2lb 8oz his best canal fish to date, which put up a spirited fight and he managed to play it himself, taking his time until the fish was ready for the net.
Others were practicing with the feeder, and the best fish of the day fell to Kayden, who was really happy with a bream of just over 3lb taken on a method feeder rig.
It’s great to see our young anglers out practising their skills and being able to fish a variety of methods.
We have the Regional CRT Heat at Three Locks in a few weeks and we are sure our Luton Kingfishers who will be representing the Club are going to put in a stellar performance and do really well.

We were fishing Wellingborough snake lake, Mill Cotton at Ringstead this week. It was a smaller than normal turnout with seven attending, at what is a popular venue, as we had several of the regulars on holiday and others attending the funeral of a friend’s wife.
Simon Foulkes decided to approach the venue with 2 lines, one at 13m at 12 o'clock feeding hemp and tares, and the other at 11.45 down the middle feeding micro pellets and dead pinkies. He decided not to feed the 12 o'clock line at the start, fishing the 11.45 line from the off, putting in a good cup of micros and dead pinkies and fishing a single dead red over the top. Bites were there from the start with the first fish being a skimmer, so he made the decision to stay on this line for the duration of the match, taking more skimmers, small Tench, Crucian Carp, Roach and small Carp. He finished with 13lb 15oz.
Tony ‘The Swat’ Hickmott decided to research the Wellingborough website for information on how to fish Mill Cotton, and tried the methods suggested. He started on the far margin up against the island, and almost immediately foul hooked a Carp, landing just a large scale. Tony was using triple maggots on a size 16 hook over a bed of micro pellets at the time. After a further hour of trying different baits without success here he started fishing down the track, where he found a small Tench and a Crucian of about a pound and several Roach. He then moved to the reedbed on the near side margin, and caught more, but smaller Roach, so he swapped back to the track where the Roach were larger. Tony found the last hour was the most productive with several Carp and Tench coming to the net. Tony used his Preston Carp pole using two pole floats he made himself, using traditional quill, Norfolk reed and a modern carbon stem and was really pleased at how they performed. Tony weighed in 9lb 5oz for second place.
Paul Carr started by fishing close to a bush on the nearside using double maggot and caught a few small roach. A switch to hookable pellet landed his only carp of the day. Paul found bites hard to come by on the pellet so he switching back to double maggot again which brought the majority of his fish. Paul was loose feeding 4mm pellet and maggot. He found along with other anglers bites were very difficult to hit, many bites ended with bait being dropped and fish missed. Paul finished third with 6lb.
There were larger fish hooked and lost by many of the anglers during the day, Les Burton losing two!

LAC Sunday Series - Third Round 23/6/2024 Three Locks
The third match in the LAC Sunday Series was held on Sunday 23rd June on the Grand Union Canal at Three Locks
This week's winner was the in form Myles Tommey. Myles' amazing ability to draw end pegs has not deserted him and he drew Peg 1. Even so, you still need to catch the fish and Myles started on his inside line where he caught some perch and a small skimmer. He switched to the far side after 30 minutes and swapped between 2 lines with 1 tight to the boat and one to his left about a metre from the boat. Fishing red maggot, Myles had a mixture of skimmers and decent bream for a well deserved winning catch of 14lb 14ozs 8drms.
In second place was Colin Homes with 9lb 2 ozs 4 drms. Drawing the other end peg 15, Colin fished the far shelf and tight over feeding maggots and some worms and fished sparingly with both maggot and worm to catch some small perch, skimmers and decent bream.
Dave Smith on peg 6 opposite the big tree came 3rd with 4lb 1ozs. Although the bream did not show he fed a chopped worm mix and fished worm to catch some very nice perch. Liam Willis continued his form in this series to come 4th off peg 7 with 3lb 6ozs 4 drms made up of a decent bream and small fish.
The next Sunday Series match is Sunday 21st July on the GUC at Ivinghoe. Meet at the venue for the draw at 8.30am am. £1.00 peg fee and £5.00 optional pools, fish 10am till 3pm.
