WORK PARTY
Saturday saw the fisheries team out clearing the very overgrown section of River Ouse at Wyboston with a further 14 swims and tidied up the existing swims. We now have a total of 30 swims along the river as it's now possible to easily access and fish the river past the nature reserve car park which has not been possible for several years. Thanks as usual to the volunteers that helped out. This section of river has in the last 18 months produced barbel to 13lb, chub over 6lb, pike over 20lb, zander to 10lb, carp over 20lb, perch well over 3lb, tench to 8lb, bream over 6lb and big eels!
On the same stretch of river Wojciech from Team Ceks had a nice size pike.
BECKERINGS RESERVOIR
Simon Jeffries caught commons of 20lb and 15lb 10oz along with two 6lb bream but lost one of the large catfish at 3am.
Matthew Lloyd and Andrew Tyers both caught 8lb bream during their visit to the reservoir

Brad Pearson tempted three carp to 23lb 1oz
and Paul Williams had the same number to 26lb 4oz

LETS FISH GRAND UNION CANAL EVENT
Last Sunday the club ran the penultimate taster session scheduled for this year at Three Locks. The weather was sunny and warm, and the day went extremely well.
We were assisted by friends and wives with the booking in and administration, Coaches from The Canal & River Trust, Tring Anglers and MKAA. Amer Jawad a well-known match angler who represents one of the large European tackle firms made a second guest appearance to support us. We also had a lady who was doing market research for CRT, and we hope collected some positive comments about the work we are doing supporting the ‘Lets Fish’ Campaign.
We had 42 new and returning anglers come with all ages well represented, and we were delighted to see several disabled people trying fishing for the first time and getting on so well they have arranged further sessions. We had retired people who had not been fishing for 40 years come with their grandchildren and really enjoy themselves. They were on the Canal bank in the open air and were stimulated by the environment and the session sparked them with a desire to take up fishing again.
Nearly all who attended caught well with some good specimens being landed. We had numbers of Roach, Bream and some very nice Perch. We were all tired at the end of the day but had a great feeling that we had done our bit to spark interest and support angling and promote the Club.
We have one further ‘Open’ session this year, again at Three Locks on 7th October, and spaces are still available if you want to come, so don’t miss the opportunity, bookings are taken via the CRT ‘Eventbright’ system.
