Luton Angling Club Weekly News Report for the Bedfordshire, Buckinghamshire & St Neots Cambridgeshire Area - Week Ending 17th September 2017

Mark Broom sent us a photo of a rainbow while fishing at Beckerings Reservoir this week and that has rather typified the conditions with plenty of sunshine and showers keeping many anglers indoors.

BECKERINGS RESERVOIR
Continues to fish well for those on the right bait and if your name is Luke!. Luke Bowman had a 27lb personal best mirror along with a 20lb 8oz common both caught using Thripster baits.

Luke Marvin fished Thripster Berry and was rewarded with 7 carp to 20lb along with 3 bream. Luke Marvin managed a further 3 hour trip to the reservoir tempting a 23lb mirror on Thripster Berry.

NORTH HOUSE LAKE
We have seen on social media that Lee Moore has caught the Shadow Common at 32lb 2oz which is Lees first 30lb+ fish after trying for so long to catch one, so well done to him.
Ethan Griffiths seems to catch at will and has sent us a selection of photos from captures in recent weeks.

KEMPSTON LAKE
Chris Thripp continues to catch on the Thripster mixes.

RIVER GREAT OUSE
If you like trotting a stick float catching quality roach, perch and big dace then the river at Biddenham is the place to go and I stood watching a retired angler on Tuesday morning doing just that with a fish a chuck and some nice specimens that needed the landing net put under them.

MATCH RESULT

RIVER GREAT OUSE BIDDENHAM
Daniel Szeszko landed a nice perch

Andy McCreary banking a specimen of 3lb 3oz

GRAND UNION CANAL
Good nets of roach and bream from the Grove marina but very light lines and small hooks are the order of the day with many visiting anglers not getting their tactics right and wondering why they struggle, start off on a size 20 hook and 2lb line with a 1.5lb bottom and you won't go far wrong.

LETS FISH EVENT
A good turnout and great feedback at the latest Lets Fish event.
Message from Graham Payne after attending the latest Lets Fish event today on the Grand Union Canal at the Three Locks - Huge thanks to the Luton Angling Club for our introduction to fishing. A great morning out and a very excited and happy Albert. He was over the moon with his monster perch.

Message from Marcus' mum Sam - Thank you for a great morning on the canal . Boys loved it and we are now all signed up!
