 BECKERINGS RESERVOIR

Will Kemp who only joined as a new member on Thursday caught a 30lb catfish on Saturday afternoon.

GRAND UNION CANAL
Our friends from the Polish Fishing Club held a lure event on Sunday 7th April along the Grand Union Canal in aid of the family of Dominic who sadly passed away recently. Fishing between 8am and midday the largest fish caught was a pike of 73cm along with other pike, perch and bream. After midday there was another small group of people who joined them to buy some raffle tickets and enjoy a barbecue. Over 60 sausages were eaten and they raised £900 for Dominic's family. Well done!

Dariusz Blahuta fished the canal and caught a large old perch estimated to be around the 3lb mark.

WORK PARTY RIVER GREAT OUSE WYBOSTON
Many thanks to the 14 volunteers that attended todays work party along the river at Wyboston. New signs were put up and a further 300m of bank was cleared which hadn't been fishable for years. Our newly qualified chainsaw team (immediate saving not employing outside contractors) made short work of some big fallen trees. Brushcutters and hedge trimmers followed through creating an easy to negotiate path along the river. Plenty of refreshments were on hand with 34 rashers of bacon, 14 eggs, 30 bread rolls and 2.5 gallons of tea keeping the spirits high. A further work party will be needed as there is another 150m to clear past the bridge which is blocked by yet another big fallen tree. Our next work party is at Lavendon on Sunday 28th April starting at 9am.
