A report from Bob Burdiak who fished Lavendon Mill upstream recently and had a good day. He had blue sky and sunshine all day. The River was up a few inches but still had very little flow, there is still some colour. The water was flat calm on his arrival with fish topping and movement from shoals of large fry which is good to see.
After some 2 hours it was obvious he was catching well so he put the keepnet in for a while for a photo opportunity. Fishing double caster on small cage feeder bites were consistent all day.
A large pike easily over 10lb took a roach but spat it out at the net, RIP Roach
Some nice perch also showed up.

River Ouse Eaton Ford - A day on the flake
Nobby Clarke fished Eaton Ford on Saturday from 7am until 2.15pm. He had a really good session which started with a chub of 1lb on his first trot down, then it was roach all the way. He had 17 good roach with nothing smaller than 8oz the best went 14oz and the chosen bait was bread flake while feeding hemp.
It was a good idea to have a day on the bread and using nice big bits they were hammering it. He was using stick and pin tactics. The flow is now dying down a bit so more rain is needed .
Nobby met another member by the name of Les who was fishing for perch and he thinks he had a couple, he also had one rod out for Pike. Nobby said he was a very nice fella and was also at EF last Saturday as his mate Geoff had a chat with him last week.
He said his session was thoroughly enjoyable with low wind, unlike Thursday of this week! He had far better quality Roach,
Although gaining in popularity it would be really good to see a few more members at Eaton Ford and a few more catch reports.
This venue is a little gem and immaculately kept by the bailiff team but it needs some bait going in. The fish will play if you feed them.

Wednesday Match Group Report - River Nene Barnwell Plantation River Nene
It was still very dark this week as we all met for breakfast at the Raunds Services on the A45 before 7am, to have breakfast, Our venue this week was Barnwell plantation on the River Nene, a Wellingborough water which we had arranged to fish under our inter-club agreement.
After driving from Raunds to the venue and parking the day dawned bright and clear with an air temperature of 8C and a midday water temperature recorded at 11.2C. The rain stayed away until we were loading cars at the end. when we had a small shower, The river looked great with a decent steady flow but was running very clear, and we all set off with high hopes of some good weights of roach.
It was soon apparent we were going to find the going tough, perhaps due to the recent cold rain entering the river and lack of colour in the water. Bites were at a premium from the off, and all most anglers could contact were very small perch, which seemed the only fish willing to feed. Those fishing tried whip, pole, waggler feeder and straight leads with a variety of baits, bread, maggot, pinkie, caster, hemp, tare and worm but nothing produced more than odd bites from smaller fish for most, weights mostly being in ounces rather than pounds!
Our winners this week were Richard Gibbs and Steve Osman who tied on 2lb 10oz. Third was taken by Bart Bonito with 2lb 1oz and fourth was Steve Lathwell with 1lb 7oz. Richard Darbon was fifth with 1lb 1oz.

New "Friday Club" Social and Work Party Group
The Club have numbers of waters that we continually need to maintain to ensure they are in good order, safe and accessible. Most of our work parties are held at weekends due to work commitments from the current officials and volunteers.
We have recently been looking at how other clubs tackle these issues, and one of the suggestions is we form an informal ‘Friday Club’ where members who might have some time available can meet at our waters to carry out agreed light maintenance tasks with hand tools like pole saws, bow saws, and loppers.
The idea is that we initially meet one Friday a month at one of our waters, have a chat and a laugh, drink some tea and coffee, exchange ideas, get some light exercise, and do a few hours work pruning vegetation and clearing swims to assist our water bailiffs.
We have approached the Wednesday match group and they seem happy to get involved, but we would like to know if anyone else is interested in joining in. We have lots of jobs for everyone, and can cater for all abilities, we need people to paint gates, rake leaves and make the tea!
If you are interested in finding out more, can you please contact the Club via our social media pages or the club website.

Coaching Updates
The Canal and River trust have launched some youtube videos this week, One from the National Celebration of Young People and Fishing and the other from the National Commonwealth Communities Celebration which were events held in September. Some of our club cadets and juniors did really well in these events which is testament to the efforts of our coaching team.

Here are the links to the videos.

That is all we have for this week,

Tight Lines.
