Here is all the latest news, information and catch reports from all Luton Angling Club waters for the week ending 18th February 2024.

A very wet end to this week (Again!) with River sections in flood conditions. With the canal at Leighton Buzzard being described as
"flowing like the river Trent on an ebb tide" forcing the Winter League anglers to move their fixture this weekend to Three Locks where the canal wasn't flowing as fast but was still a horrible colour.

South Lagoon - Closed 24/2/24 for the Predator Match
Don't forget that the South Lagoon at Wyboston is closed next Saturday 24th February for the Luton AC Predator Match. Anyone fishing Friday night must leave the lake by 8am on Saturday Morning.

Beckerings Reservoir
Carp to 20lb have been reported this week though no pictures have been sent in at the time of this report The bailiffs reported that lots of fish were showing. Nice Roach and Ide are being caught as well.

Darren Savage fished Beckerings last couple of Wednesdays and amongst lots of small Roach and Perch his notable catches were a 3lb 4oz Ide and a 1lb 14oz Perch, he also had a 1lb 8oz Roach during this Wednesday session.

North House Lake
Despite an amber weather warning for rain this weekend, North House Lake was busy on Friday and Saturday night the bailiffs told me that 7 carp were caught, a couple of Commons around 20lb, a few of the smaller stockies from last October and one of the 2017 Stockies was caught by a Junior which was over 20lb.

Wednesday Match Group Report - 14th February 2024 - Three Locks
20 Anglers turned out for Wednesday's match on the GUC at Three Locks. The weather was a lot milder and dryer than recent days and with a little colour in the canal the anticipation of catching fish was high.
The match was split into two sections with half the field below the locks and the others above past the bridge. This enabled the match to incorporate a drawn pairs with one from each pair in fishing in each section.
Unfortunately the match turned out to be much tougher than the anglers thought with bigger fish making up the top three weights.
Top weight on the day was Richard Darbon. Drawn on peg one above the locks, Richard caught two large bream very early on in the match fishing maggot on the pole and then like most others struggled for bites for the rest of the match. But a few extra small fish meant Richard weighed 6lb 13os for the win.
Second was Richard Gibbs who caught a bream on a small feeder which weighed 2lb 10ozs. Richard was pegged past the boats near the bend below three locks.
Also pegged past the boats was Simon Faulkes who came third with 2lb 4oz made up of a good size bream and perch and a couple of other smaller fish. Simon caught long on the pole.
Another notable performance came from Charlie Robinson who produced a small fish masterclass. Pegged on the 1st swim opposite the boats and having gone biteless for the first hour, a change in tactic to fish bread tight to the far bank produced 43 small roach to weigh 1lb 2oz for 4th place.
However with this being a pairs match, the final results were:
1st - Richard Darbon & Charlie Robinson - 18 points - 7lb 15ozs
2nd - Richard Gibbs & Rober Baker - 18 points - 2lb 11ozs 8drm
