Luton Angling Club Weekly News Report for the Bedfordshire, Buckinghamshire & St Neots Cambridgeshire Area - Week Ending 8th July 2018

Despite the football & very hot weather anglers have still managed to get out and catch over the past week

NORTH HOUSE LAKE
Carlo Borromeo managed 3 carp to 21lb

Braidan Tidmarsh 2 carp

and Filip Dunaj 8 carp to 21lb.

GRAND UNION CANAL
Reporting through social media sites and from our canal bailiff there have been plenty of carp caught with fish to 29lb this week. Mornings and evenings are easily the best times and the area between Grove Marina and Slapton lock being the most consistent. Lots of the 3000 stockies we introduced 6 years ago are now being caught at 8lb+. Day tickets are available on the bank at £6 with night fishing available to members only in certain areas. Boat traffic and moored boats is likely to increase ahead of the Linslade Canal festival on Saturday 28th July. Already we have seen an increased number of moored boats at Chelmscote and the Globe.

CANAL PAIRS CHAMPIONSHIP
A round of the 2018 Canal Pairs Championship is being held on the Luton/Tring sections of the Grand Union Canal on Sunday 5th August. Our Ivinghoe sections are being used and volunteer stewards are required on the day. Please get in touch if you can spare a few hours to help out.

DONATIONS REQUIRED
Our coaching team have been in touch wondering if anyone has any old or unwanted Octoplus style seat boxes that they would like to donate for the coaching sessions they are running. Please get in touch if you have anything and we will arrange collection. Many thanks.

Steve
