LETS FISH
Saturdays free Lets Fish event at the Three Locks was a success despite the cold wind and occasional shower keeping numbers down.
Here are some photos from the day courtesy of Gareth Evans. Helen caught her first fish a nice skimmer bream. She backed that up with a little roach and caught 6 fish in half an hour. Zac came down with his mum and older brother who were all at the last event at The Globe. Zac caught perch and roach. Jacob visited with his dad and caught plenty of fish including good sized perch. Joshua was with his mum and brother Bobby. In his first two casts he caught two perch at just under 1lb each! Bobby caught his first ever fish a perch like his brother Joshua. Many thanks to Browns Angling Leighton Buzzard for kindly supplying all of the bait for the event free of charge. Thanks also to our hard working coaches that give up their time for free to run these events and to all participants that braved the elements we hope you had a good time and see you at the next free event.

FISHERY TEAM UPDATE
9 attendees were at the Lavendon work party. Bob had strimmed the lay-by parking area during the previous week. The downstream section pathway & swims have now been strimmed and cut out.
Upstream section had majority of swims strimmed & cut out. The 'past its use by date' pedestrian gate at the lay-by parking area has been replaced with the metal gate & post we removed from our original car park which is now built up with farm buildings.
Much of the fencing around the gate has been repaired.
Bacon & egg rolls went down well not forgetting a bit of black pudding. About 10 litres or 2 gallons of tea consumed keeping the workers happy!

The following day saw the finishing off from the work party at Lavendon they also took the chainsaws along to Biddenham where two large trees had fallen on Saturday across the pathway that links the car park to the river. Huge cost savings are being made having our own in house qualified chainsaw team. Many thanks to Des, Bob and David for their hard work.
