South Lagoon Wyboston
Day Ticket Angler Andy caught an absolute stunner of a Mirror Carp caught from the South Lagoon this weekend. This is one of two carp he caught and he also lost another.

Grand Union Canal
Edward Allen popped down with the kids to section 3 on the canal for a few hours on Sunday afternoon. Using Hinders supercharged natural black on two lines, youngsters Florence and Dexter had a fair few fish each.
Florence took several very small roach, a few slighter bigger roach, a skimmer and a few perch (her best is pictured) on pinkie at 2 metres.

3 balls of the same, put a metre off the far side with a steady trickle of pinkie and big maggot started to produce a few bites on the tip for Dexter.
Some bigger skimmers, a few perch and a decent sized Bream that looks like it's gone 10 rounds with Tyson all fell to a worm and maggot combo.Maybe it was skill or it could be due to Dexters lucky fishing towel!

At the time of writing I haven't yet received the results but as soon as I do a full match report, pictures and results will be up on the facebook page and will of course also be included in next week's news round up.

North House Lake
After helping out at the work party Rod Gladston was rewarded for his efforts by catching an old warrior of a Mirror Carp.

Brett Collins who also helped out with this weekends work party had one of the stockies.

The work party was fairly well attended and we completed the rabbit proofing of the fence to prevent them digging under it.
Whilst our improvements are not 100% effective we can see in the section we completed previously it's certainly making it more challenging for them and slowing them down. We also had a general tidy up and moved all the chainlink fencing near the gate ready for disposal.
Thanks to all the members that helped out this weekend.

Wyboston River Ouse
Work Party regular Barry Stevenson fished the river at Wyboston and had a nice 3lb Chub just beyond the bridge using bread as bait.
We are very lucky to have a team of bailiffs that take pride in keeping their venues in tip top condition. Bailiff Stewart at Eaton Ford noticed that Peg 4's platform was looking a little tired and in need of some TLC. He's done an amazing job modernising it and now it will see several more years service as a result. Here is a before and after photo...
Wednesday Match Group Report
It was a cold and misty morning and with leaves turning brown and falling, the season of 'mists and mellow fruitfulness' (John Keats 1795 - 1821) has well and truly arrived!
14 anglers had left home in the dark to fish the River Ouse at Wyboston. The recent rain had done nothing to improve either the flow or colour and there was little sign of fish movement.
Tony Hickmott reported the water temperature to be 13.7 deg C which remained constant throughout the day.
By the 10am 'all in' the weather had warmed and the breaks in the cloud provided some welcome and warm sunshine.
All usual methods and styles of fishing were deployed but it was running line float fishing and pole anglers who found the roach feeding. 'Abbey Lads' Keith Ward justified his long drive from Kent to take top spot fishing maggot or caster over hemp to weigh a level 8lbs of mostly roach.
Second place Steve Lathwell ran him close with 7lbs 7ozs catching roach at 13 metres also using maggot and caster over hemp.
By contrast, third place Richard Gibbs caught mostly roach on the whip at just 4 metres on maggot.
1. Keith Ward 8.0.0.
2. Steve Lathwell 7.7.0.
3. Richard Gibbs 6.8.0.
4. David Ridley 4.8.0.
5. Richard Darbon 3.12.0.
6. Barry Roper. 3.8.0.
Joint 7th Terry Vickers/Brian Shaw 2.12.0.
8. Paul Roberts 1.12.0.
9. Roger Baker 1.7.0.
10.Malcolm Ogden 0.13.0.
11.Tony Hickmott 0.9.0.
12.Ray Burton 0.8.0.
13.Les Burton 0.3.0.
Despite a cool afternoon wind bringing dark and rain threatening clouds the rain held off and we went home dry! Many thanks to Roger Baker and Ray Burton for doing the weigh in.
Next Wednesday sees a return to the Canal at Town South, Leighton Buzzard.
This too is a day ticket water so all welcome. £5 optional pools and £1 peg fee. Draw at 8.30am by the footbridge at the end of Mardle Rd. LU7 2UT.
Please consider where you park and ensure you park responsibly and be considerate of access for local residents and refuse collections.
