Luton Angling Club Weekly News Report 22/1/2017

 22nd January 2017

We haven't had much to report since the new year with the cold weather many of our venues have been frozen over resulting in few reports please remember to drop us a message if you manage to get out fishing,

After losing a huge chub at the net earlier in the month Andrew Upton returned to Lavendon Mill and with the water level up and running fast he managed a 5½lchub

At Beckerings this week when part of the reservoir was not frozen over bailiff Mark Sessions caught a 22lb Common Carp along with another of 19lb 12oz

At the Spinney on the River Ivel at Blunham. Stuart the owner of London Colney Tackle reports that it is a bite a chuck fishing on the stick float with lots of Roach around 12oz and also some decent Dace.

We will shortly be announcing this years work party schedules and we would really like to see a few more volunteers coming to help out this year instead if the same few faces. There is no way the club could afford to pay to get the maintenance work carried out without a significant increase in membership costs so we rely on volunteers to assist us with the work.

The work parties are a good social event and we usually fire up the barbecue and the kettle is always on the boil. So if you want that platform repaired or swim cleared or tree cut back in your favourite peg come along and help us out!
