Luton Angling Club Weekly News Report for the Bedfordshire, Buckinghamshire & St Neots Cambridgeshire Area - Week Ending 27th August 2017

 GREAT OUSE BIDDENHAM

The Ouse has been producing well with John Morris catching a 2lb 9oz perch


Fergal O'Kane one he measured at 40cm which is well over 2lb.


KEMPSTON LAKE

Chris Thripp has caught many 20lb+ carp this week,







Bill Mann mirrors of 28lb, 22lb & 21lb pus an upper double ghostie.


Adrian Jaworski tempted a 23lb 9oz mirror.


NORTH HOUSE LAKE

Steve Osborn managed 5 over 20lb including Pecs the mirror at 28lb 11oz and the common known as Lobe Tail at 26lb.

Paul & Braidan Tidmarsh caught numerous fish with Pauls 23lb 4oz common & a scaley mirror being the pick of the bunch.

BECKERINGS RESERVOIR

Junior member Callum Anderson landed commons of 23lb 7oz, 17lb 12oz and 17lb 4oz during a short evening session.


GRAND UNION CANAL

Good weights of bream, skimmers, roach and rudd from Grove marina on all methods.

SOUTH LAGOON

Pawel Ceks caught a 6lb bream while young Jason Kelly had 16lb of skimmers & roach.



MATCH RESULT

Potters Bar fished the Great Ouse at Biddenham on Sunday 20th August - 12 fished
1st 14.08 peg 38 - maggots roach & dace
2nd 9.08 peg 1 - maggots roach & perch
3rd 5.00 peg 7
The winner was the only one to fish beyond peg 15 with the remaining 11 between pegs 1-15.
Several large fish were hooked and lost during the match which is a common occurrence during Biddenham matches.


GRAND UNION CANAL WORK PARTY SATURDAY 26th AUGUST

Four volunteers were out removing invasive rushes (with the consent of C&RT) from section 13 at Ivinghoe. There are now five fishable pegs again. Many thanks to Debby at the Brownlow B&B for providing breakfast, tea & coffee, much appreciated.
