Luton Angling Club Weekly News Report for the Bedfordshire, Buckinghamshire & St Neots Cambridgeshire Area - Week Ending 12th August 2018

LITTER

Once again its the mindless few that spoil it for the majority. Photos sent in today by a member show rubbish left at the Lagoon. Also this week we've had bags of rubbish left at Beckerings Reservoir. Could we ask that any angler that feels the need to leave litter DO NOT join Luton AC or come to fish our day ticket venues as you are not welcome! We certainly don't need your money and our waters would be nicer places to fish without you. TAKE YOUR RUBBISH HOME!

55s & OVER FISHING GROUP
Starting in May next year three of our Clubs senior life members, Barrie Bashford, John Morris and Dennis Hunt are going to be arranging a weekly outing with a not too serious match element included for Club members aged 55 and over to the Canal and our other waters. We know many of our members will enjoy themselves and we will invite other local Clubs to join us if they wish.
We intend to run these events on Wednesdays starting in May and full details will be in the next years Club book. We would be delighted to hear from anybody interested who wants to join in with us. We will run some events in the daytime and others in the light evenings during the summer when fishing can be excellent.
The aim is to make this a good ‘social’ event with a bit of banter and give everyone a chance to join in and learn from each other, improve everyone’s fishing skills , and have a laugh so if you are a total newbie angler, or an ex match angler, want to improve your fishing skills or just have a chat and make some new friends why don’t you join us.
Depending on interest if members want to start earlier and have some outings this year let us know and we will see what we can arrange

KEEPNET BAN - REMINDER
Due to the ongoing hot weather, low water levels and reduced dissolved oxygen levels the Board decided at last nights meeting in the interest of fish welfare to impose an immediate ban on the use of keepnets on all of our waters until 30th September 2018.
The only exception will be in the limited number of matches already booked and we will be talking to the organisers of those
