NEW RULE AT KEMPSTON LAKE
We have today been informed that ALL anglers fishing Kempston Lake from 1st June must have a minimum 42" landing net set up before commencing fishing. This is the case even if bream or roach fishing when a smaller landing net is acceptable to use for those species but the larger net must be set up ready in case one of the venues larger fish is hooked. Unfortunately the bailiffs have witnessed large carp being landed in woefully small pan size landing nets so this makes good fish care sense. Anyone fishing without the minimum size net will be told to leave by the lake owners team of bailiffs.
Whilst on the subject of fish care its not a rule we would very much like everyone on all of our venues to use an hydrating bucket (I use a collapsible/folding groundbait bucket) to wet the mat before placing a fish on it and during the unhooking/photographing process as fish on dry mats is never a good way to care for our stock. Email us if you are unsure or would like more info on any aspect of fish care. Thanks
