Luton Angling Club Weekly News Report for the Bedfordshire, Buckinghamshire & St Neots Cambridgeshire Area - Week Ending 17th November 2019

 GRAND UNION CANAL

Over 55s
Four anglers fished at Slapton on a bright but cold winter’s day. The air temperature on arrival was 2C after an overnight frost with no breeze to ripple the canal surface. The water was gin clear with the colour having dropped out of the water due to the fall in temperature - a challenging day was ahead. There were four boats that passed by during the day with the hope they might put some colour in the water but to no avail.  Only John Gray managing to put a fish on the bank this week - a chub of 1Lbs 4oz which took a very small red worm. John also lost another chub at the net. Well done, John.  Next week they’ll be back at Wyboston on the Ouse for a rod and line only day.

Charlie Newton caught a nice chub which took a liking to a soft lure she was using while jigging.

SOUTH LAGOON
Wojciech caught 4 pike up to 15lb 8oz and a 2lb 10oz perch.

Filip Dunaj caught a nice 13lb 14oz pike.

BECKERINGS
Tom Harris hit a new personal best with a fantastic looking mirror at 25lb 8oz from the reservoir.

NOTH HOUSE LAKE
Brian Turner caught an absolutely stunning North House pike at 12lb 6oz.
