Luton Angling Club Weekly News Report for the Bedfordshire, Buckinghamshire & St Neots Cambridgeshire Area - Week ending 3rd October 2021

Here is all this weeks news and catch reports from Luton Angling Club. Week ending 3rd October 2021.

South Lagoon - Wyboston
We brought you news last week of Wojciech breaking the club Tench record at 8lb 10oz well this week we are able to report that Dean Brittain caught one even bigger at 9lb 5oz and the weight was witnessed. Dean was going for the bream on a feeder rod and just thought he'd pop one out for the carp as well using an 18mm boilie as bait resulting in the capture of this amazing fish. He is well chuffed and has beat his PB Tench weight too. He's absolutely buzzing!
Grzegorz Gawron had a good session on the Lagoon catching a zander and 4 pike to 14lb 12oz one of them being a repeat capture, catching it twice in the space of 48hrs.
River Ouse Wyboston
Darren Savage spent the day on the river and had a great result catching five Perch all over 2lb with two weighing 2lb 11oz all were taken on chopped worm and red maggots.
Beckerings
Ian Inness caught a nice Mirror it was taken on a Zig Rig.
Dennis Pratley had a Common and he said although it was only 19lb 1oz when they are this nice size doesn't matter.
On Thursday Night Craig Mahoney had five fish. He sent us in pictures of two of them. A Mirror at 25lb 14oz and a Common at 21lb 4oz.
River Ouse - Undisclosed stretch
Mariusz caught a nice lure caught 11lb 5oz Pike from a Luton AC stretch of the River Great Ouse unfortunately he did not mention which venue in his report.
River Ouse - Lavendon Upstream
Mark Brooks and Bob Burdiak fished upstream on Wednesday. a 5 hour session and the conditions were very windy, There was very little flow but a hint of colour in the water.
Bob stuck to small feeder and red maggot taking Chublets and Roach to 8oz. Mark used worm and feeder catching Skimmers and Perch.
With the wind float fishing was not easy but Mark tried for short intervals and was rewarded with Roach and Perch on pinkies close in.
Wednesday Match Group Report 29th September 2021
Because of the ongoing issues with obtaining fuel some of the regulars didn’t attend this week, so expected numbers were somewhat reduced at our Wednesday outing when we fished Beckerings.

On a day that started with a low sun, good cloud cover and a decent ripple on the water hopes were high amongst the five anglers that we might get among the big bream, but alas it wasn’t to be.

Richard Gibbs had more luck than most, weighing in a mixed bag of Perch, Skimmers and a decent roach for 4lbs, mainly taken on worm. Others who opted to sit it out and try for the Bream weighed in a small few Perch, although another angler who was on the water at the same time did have a few.

This week with the fuel situation hopefully easing we will fish Town South, meet by the White Bridge as usual for 9am draw, £5.00 optional pools non-Members are welcome.

John Morris Memorial Match - Biddenham
On Sunday 11 anglers fished the John Morris memorial match at Biddenham and conditions proved quite challenging for all the competitors. I am waiting for the full match report which I'll include next week but the results were as follows.

2nd Place with 4lb 6oz - Mark Brooks
Joint 3rd Place both with 3lb 10oz - Liam Willis and Keith Ward
