LAC News Report - Week ending 20th November 2016

 Week ending 20th November 2016

Wind, rain and cold weather has meant that there are hardly any catch reports this week other than the Grand Union Canal which is fishing well in certain areas.

GRAND UNION CANAL

For guaranteed bites get along to the Grove Marina which is still producing 20lb+ bags of roach and skimmers in the early pegs closest to the pub and lock. Fish maggot at 7m and you wont go far wrong.

We are allowed to park in the pub car park and walk across the lock otherwise park at Grove Church and be prepared for quite a walk.

MATCH RESULTS

Potters Bar visited the Ouse at Biddenham on 13th November but rain the day before saw the river rise 3inches during the match coupled with an overnight frost meant weights were low with just 3lb 6oz being enough to win from peg 9, 2nd was 3lb from peg 31 and 2lb 14oz from peg 36. Roach and dace were caught with very few perch and only a handful of baby chublets.

Abbey Lads fished in unpleasant wind and rain on 20th November but still caught well from the Grand Union Canal at the Globe

1st D Whillock 16lb 3oz bream & perch

2nd L Willis 10lb 1.5oz roach, bream & perch

3rd S Marsh 5lb 15oz roach & bream

KEMPSTON LAKE PREDATOR MATCH
Get out of the Christmas shopping by coming along to our Kempston Lake Predator Match on Sunday 18th December. Its £10 to fish with all proceeds going to Keech Hospice. Last year Filip Dunaj won with his third fish of the match 5 minutes before the final whistle. The pike in Kempston go over 20lb so we are hoping to get amongst the bigger fish this year. We have a nice trophy up for grabs so if you fancy taking part please text 07704462635 or send a PM to us on Facebook. Novice predator anglers are very welcome to take part as there are experienced anglers who will be happy to help and give advice on the day. Places are limited on a first come first served basis so get in quick.

RIVER THAMES SONNING
We have a water share arrangement with Barnet & District AC which allows us access to 1.25 miles of the River Thames.
Talking to Stuart the owner of London Colney Tackle who is on the Barnet committee he says thats Luton members are enjoying good sport on the Thames at Sonning. The largest barbel reported this season has been over 15lb with perch in excess of 4lb along with big nets of large roach.
Stuart is happy to share his knowledge of the river so if you're planning a visit then give him a call on 01727-826677 or drop by for a chat at London Colney Tackle 11 Haseldine Rd, London Colney, AL2 1RR (closed Sundays)
