Club President and Luton AC Legend - David Edwards
It is with great sadness that the club has to report the passing of Club President David Edwards. David died at home just 6 weeks after he was diagnosed with bone cancer. David joined Luton AC in 1957 when he was just 20 years old and through the years he devoted a huge amount of his time to running the club. He fulfilled pretty much all of the roles within the club at one point or another and was chairman for many years and there is no doubt that he played a pivotal role in getting the club to its centenary year. A big part of the club history will be missing without him. He will be missed and our thoughts are with his family and friends at this sad time. Rest in Peace Dave.

A couple of trips to Beckerings reservoir for Amer Jawad this week. On the first trip it took over an hour to get his first bite, but it was worth the wait as he managed the first of 4 large bream over 8lb and 3 roach, one being around 1lb 8oz! A feature on this trip will be out on the All-Round Angler website at the end of this month - check it out.
On his second trip he left the feeder rods at home and ventured to the reservoir with just a couple of waggler rods. He was in search of some of the waters big roach. 20m out, it was a bit windy so he opted for firing balls of groundbait at the float. 2 hours with no bites then started to get a few bites from some lovely roach! His comments were that it was a really enjoyable afternoons fishing.
Wednesday Match Report, River Ouse Biddenham
9th Feb 2022
Today, On a lovely late winter morning 10 anglers gathered to fish at Biddenham. The river looked great with a decent flow and a tinge of colour after the recent heavy rain. The morning was clear with no overnight frost, with an air temperature at 8C and a breeze blowing up the river giving a slight ripple.
The river looked in good form, but anglers struggled to find fish. Dennis Hunt pegged in swim 7 managed to temp a few fish by feeding Pinkies and Hemp, with double maggot on the hook at 12 Mtrs using a 1.5 Gram float. Bites were positive but when the wind dropped midday the bites vanished, returning when the wind stated pick up again towards the end of the match. He finished with 3 Chub, a decent Dace and a few Roach to weigh in 3lb 6oz and take first place.
Steve Lathwell was struggling for bites and stuck a worm down the edge in the last half hour to snare a Perch of just over a pound to give 1lb 6oz for second place. Dave Abbott weighed 8oz for 3rd, and Chris Howard lost what was believed to be a decent Chub within the first half hour. The rest of the field struggled several returning DNW on what turned out to be a challenging day.
