Not long now until we can fish the rivers again. (16th June).
Not long now until we can fish the rivers again. (16th June).
Our work party volunteers, venue bailiffs and club officials have been working hard to get all the venues in tip top condition. We all take great pride in the upkeep of our river venues and try to ensure jungle warfare isn't required to access them.
This weekend on Sunday the work party crew were out on the River at Wyboston, All the pathways and swims were strimmed and mown - Andy Smith laid on Bacon and Sausage Rolls, Tea, Coffee, Cakes and Donuts which were gratefully received! Thanks go to Des Saunders, David Murdoch, Andy Smith, David Nicholson, Neville Hunt, Nebjosa Gal, Barry Stevenson, Rob Dunthorne, Fergal O'Kane, Paul Hallybone, Bob Burdiak & Barry Emery - Apologies if I have missed anyone out! It's looking great for the 16th June.

North House Lake
Tom Mutz fished North House Lake on Sunday and didn't have a bite. He moved peg around 8 o’clock in the evening and the rod ripped off half an hour later with a 26 lb common the following day he landed a 25lb common.
Head Bailiff Brian Turner had a good session on North House. He had one of the October stockies at about 7lb on the 1st night then on his second day this stunning old English black common in absolutely mint condition. He would like to thank Daniel Hussey for taking the pictures. He also had a small tench just before dark. Then all hell broke loose at 1:30am as he hooked into a large carp that knew every snag in the lake only to have the hook pull at the net gutted but very happy with the common it definitely made the trip..
Luke Derrick fished at North House for the first time and had a 16lb Common he was very happy and said it is a lovely venue.
Daniel Keefe had a nice dark chestnut common weighing 23lb.
Rod Gladston had a 3:30 am wake up call from this 25lb Common, it was caught on a washed out Yellow wafter, He said the picture does not do justice to it, as it was a really stunning fish.
Kieran Law fished the lake for the first time as a new member. He did a 48hr session and had 5 carp. All were caught on Skerkro tackle and bait. He said its a beautiful lake and it was nice to meet some of the members there.
