Here is this all weeks news and catch reports from Luton Angling Club. The bailiffs have reported that the carp have started showing signs of spawning . We will not be closing any venues as its difficult to predict and the fish can start and stop depending on the conditions.
Please be respectful, spawning fish are not interested in your bait and fishing for them can harm them and they are put in danger of being foul hooked, the quicker they get this over with the quicker things will be back to normal. We will keep you updated on spawning via the club facebook page.
Keep your catch reports coming in via facebook and our website. You can also what's app your reports and pictures to 07940 229071.

Match Report, Wednesday 11th May
Yasi’s How End
This Wednesday 15 anglers gathered ‘Away’ for a change at How End to fish a commercial fishery for our Wednesday match. The day was overcast and damp, with an air temperature of 13C and light rain as the anglers were setting up, which gathered in intensity as the morning wore on, it certainly was another wet Wednesday this week!
The water temperature at midday was 17C, no wonder the fish felt warm. The anglers caught a variety of species, Mirror & Common Carp, Ide, Crucian Carp, Tench, Barbel, Bream, Roach and Rudd all featuring in the nets. Ray Burton Caught his PB Carp
Fortunes were mixed with some anglers not being able to contact the Carp, with others losing hooked Carp during the session.
Dave Britton had a good day, putting 54lb 8oz of carp and 7lb 14oz of silvers on the scales for a combined weight of 62lb 6oz. Dave caught his fish mid water at 4 sections, he fed 2 Kilo of fishery 4mm pellet and half a tin of corn. using a banded size 16 Kamasan B911X. David used pellet and corn as his hook bait.
Colin Macbeth was second with 24lb 11oz of Carp and 17lb 13oz of silvers for a total 42lb 8oz. He started with 3 lines, tight to far bank, the bottom of far shelf and top 2 plus 1. He fed lightly with pellet on the far bank initially for one carp, then fed the bottom of far shelf with gab and micros. He tried this line after an hour or so and caught a few silvers. His main attack was short line feeding heavily with maggot and caster with occasional 4mm pellet. He fed 1 pint of caster and best part of 3 pints of maggot. He caught mainly Ide initially on maggot with the addition of a few tench and a crucian. Fished pellet on this line later which produced a few carp.
Colin Holmes took 3rd place with 16lb 1oz of Carp and 21lb 3oz of silvers for 37lb 4oz. He made up a paste from some Des Shipp expanders, fishing 3 pole sections out most of the day. He did try a Method feeder bouncing it off the mud near the island but only caught roach & skimmers, and he found nothing on near margin.
Despite the rain all who came enjoyed the day, thanks to How End for hosting us and thanks to all who helped in organising the draw and weigh in
