Neil Cox spent 48hrs at the start of the week at Beckerings and had about 200lb bream, he went again this afternoon and found some fish feeding 3ft from the bank and this little beauty couldn’t resist a madbaits pop up test bait just over 12lb and good to see smaller fish being caught. He also saw some massive Tench and Ide. He did nearly have the half lin again but she spat the biscuit out

Members please note that now the water levels are getting lower at Beckerings (as they usually do this time of year due to irrigation pumping) you may setup on the lake bed but must only setup and fish directly in front of the platforms.
Please also be aware banks may be slippery until they have dried out a bit so take extreme care.

River Ouse - Lavendon Mill Upstream
Bailiff Bob Burdiak fished upstream at Lavendon and after early sun it was overcast and breezy. These conditions probably helped as the river had very little flow or colour.
Fishing a waggler with wheat he amassed a 10lbs+ net of pristine roach. (ALL fish swam off on return). He doesn't usually use a keepnet but did on this occasion purely for a photo shoot opportunity to show others the potential of the Roach fishing at Lavendon - not all the fish he caught are on display in the photo.

River Ouse - Wyboston
Nobby Clarke Fished Wyboston Tuesday 4.30 -9.15pm intending to visit Biddenham again he was late so his plans changed and Biddenham was put on the back burner, Wyboston wasn’t great this week it has to be said , as there was as good as no flow for starters , The fishing was tough going as we knew it would be , The rain we need just isn’t forthcoming .
He did catch a few nice plump roach best around the 10oz mark and 3 chublets around 7" and some 4 and 6oz roach hopefully fish for the future. Again Tare won the day by a county mile , once in his chosen peg ,which was 14 he didn't fish from the off , he just did his usual after setting up ,he was pinging out 4 grains of hemp into the boat channel for 40 minutes. Set up was 8 mtr whip 6 mtr rig with 2grm float.

River Ouse - Biddenham
Later in the week Nobby Clarke finally got to Biddenham but a shame it was so warm , however that is why he fished peg 4 you don’t get a single ray of sun on you in that peg , he was at the venue for first light and what a lovely sunrise. Fishing started very slow then the small roach started feeding they were 2 to 4 oz size fish of which he had around 40. He never put the small ones in the net but did manage a nice few better sized roach to around 8 or 9oz but the pike were on form which can be a menace at Biddenham.
Nobby fed hemp and had most of the small roach on giant hemp. He started on the Tares to try to get rid of the small fish , all the better stamp were on Tare or Urid Bean which is a very underestimated bait, Roach love them but he has found it hard to get them to turn on to them from the off here’s a couple of photos he took.

Match Report - Wednesday 6th July Beckerings
The Wednesday match group were all looking forward to fishing Beckerings this week, with the anglers each bringing two nets with them to ensure no overcrowding in case anyone bagged up. The morning temperature was a muggy 16C and the sky overcast and grey, with minimal wind to start. The wind picked up to a stiff breeze and the overcast cleared, before dropping again at midday ending on an almost flat calm in the afternoon.
It really was what the old-time anglers would call a perfect bream day, and so it turned out for venue expert and Bailiff Colin Holmes, who had a ‘Red Letter’ day taking his biggest ever haul of Beckerings bream on a float using 3lb line, Colin fished at 3 to 4 rod lengths to weigh 62lb 3oz for what must be the Luton natural venue match record. Colin used decidedly second hand sweetcorn as bait which had been through the freezer a few times! Colins Fish were split between his two nets, which were separately weighed, hence the two pictures. Care was taken to ensure all the fish caught swam off strongly when returned.
Second with 22lb 7oz was Trevor James who took three bream, some roach and perch on a feeder setup baited with Dendras and dead red maggot. Trevor’s biggest Bream weighed separately was 8lb 3oz.
He also lost another two bream in the thick weed, which troubled most of the anglers during the day.
Dave Ridley fished a waggler to take a bag of Roach and Perch weighing 8lb 4oz on maggot, and he again lost fish in the weed as did most of those fishing.
There were plenty of backup weights in the 4-5 lb region recorded.

Match Report CRT South East Regional Celebration match Three Locks 9th July.
On Saturday Luton hosted the second of the CRT ‘United by Birmingham’ Commonwealth Games regional community celebration events.
It was a very successful day with 14 Cadet and Junior entries and all who came really enjoyed the experience, all competitors catching fish.
The weather was fine, very warm, and the fishing close, the section fishing evenly along the length giving opportunity for the young anglers to display their talents.
The Cadet section was tied with Hugo Hall (Aged 8) and Dylan Carr (Aged 9) both weighing 1 Kilo 450 gram, and in a tremendous sporting gesture Dylan conceded victory to Hugo because Hugo was younger competitor, a fantastic act of generosity.
The Junior section was also close, and was won by Alex Lamont of Northampton Nene, who weighed in 2 Kilo 460 gram. Second was newcomer Alex Bourne with 1 Kilo 660, and we hope to see Alex at our forthcoming Junior coaching sessions. Blake Mannas from St Neots came a creditable third catching most of his bag very close in.
Our highest place Luton Junior was the talented James Oakes, who was fourth, who recovered after a slow start to weigh in 1 Kilo 160, with our only female competitor Lottie Clarke fifth weighing in a creditable 1 Kilo 140.
Rhys Gardiner one of the lads from a school in Northampton who entered hooked and lost a big Carp during the match, his line parting like a pistol shot.
Many thanks to all those who helped on the day, and video of the event is available on the CRT Angling Facebook page having been live streamed on the day.
