North House Lake
Josh Leher fished North house for the first time on Friday and landed this 21lb 5oz PB common first cast. It was caught on fake corn lowered into the margins near feeding fish, and the bite came within 15 minutes. As a new member for this year, he also commented on how welcoming and friendly the other anglers on the lake were, which is great to hear.

Lavendon Mill - Upstream
Mark Brooks and Bob Burdiak enjoyed what turned out to be a tough day at Lavendon upstream this week. Bright sun and a downstream breeze made for hard work as Mark fished at 14m on the pole and Bob on the waggler. Roach eventually turned up as cloud cover increased, both were catching the fish on wheat.

Wednesday Match Report 23rd August, River Ouse at Biddenham
There were nine of us fishing Biddenham this week, a smaller than usual turnout due to holidays, hospital appointments and last-minute babysitting duties!
It was a lovely late summer morning, cool and with a slightly damp feel in the air. The temperature soon rose as the sun appeared and we ended with a warm day with the temperature pushing 25C. The river had a lovely colour, and a very slight flow, badly needing rain to increase the flow and perhaps improve the fishing.
Our top dog today was Barry Roper who fished his Cadence whip, alternating between 6 and 9 meters. He started on maggot and caught small roach steadily and with an hour and a half to go started getting bites on hemp to finish with a flourish catching quality roach for 5lb 5oz.
Adrian Smith was second, probably robbed of first place as he had to leave an hour early to catch a flight for a business meeting. Adrian fished 2 pole lines, one at around 9 metres and one at 13.5metres.

He used a flat float on the 9 Metre line using chopped worm over groundbait where he caught most of his fish, mostly consisting of perch and some skimmers with a dace and a chublet. He used hemp, caster and wheat on the 13.5m line, but this only produced a couple of roach, finishing with 5lb.
Ash Bunnage finished third and caught most of his fish at depth in 11ft of water. On his 13 Metre line he used double pinkie, but was plagued with nuisance bleak, on his second line at 5metres he had a few perch on a chop worm/caster to weigh 4lb 2oz.
Dennis Hunt put in a slightly better performance than last week but had a roach taken by a pike twice, and hooked and lost a very strong fish which took hemp in the last 15 mins which ran all over the river before finally throwing the hook in the marginal weed at the edge.

1st Barry Roper 5lb 5oz
