South Lagoon - Wyboston
Wieslaw Lewandowski and his son Simon had a good haul of bream from the South Lagoon at the weekend. South Lagoon Wyboston is available to Luton Angling Club members and also on a Day/Night ticket for non-members.
Grand Union Canal
Dave Nicholson said it was a challenging day on the canal with the cold weather. There were a few missed bites, but he managed to get 3 Bream in the net on the feeder. It's the first time he's fished there and will be back soon for another session.
Fergal O'Kane fished also fished the Grand Union Canal for a short evening session as he wanted to try out a new rod. He would have been happy to catch anything, he was thinking about moving location after not having any luck, but then got a follow on a spinner and clearly saw a big perch, so he persisted, after chucking a crayfish lure out after a boat went through, he felt a thump and the rod started to bend and he had this 43cm Perch, it was his only fish of the evening, but well worth the journey.
Wednesday Match Group - Report 24th April Twinlakes Biddenham.
This week we were fishing Jack’s Lake, the bigger lake of the two at Twinlakes a commercial fishery at Biddenham to add a bit of variety to our program.

he venue always makes us very welcome and 20 of us gathered in the car park for our draw, after which we collected our fishery nets and made our way to the swims for the day.

The overnight weather had been chilly at 4C, and during the day the temperature warmed, dipped and then rose again, although it was fine with no rain, but at times we did get a few threatening clouds.

We all enjoyed the day, and plenty of fish were caught, fish falling to waggler, pole and feeder tactics. The Carp really didn’t show until after lunch when the weather warmed with our biggest fish of the day a 12lb common taken by Andy Norgate. There were also plenty of good fish hooked and lost during a day in which 895 lbs of fish were landed, an average off 44lbs each.

Heaviest bag of the day was 120lb 14oz taken by Steve Lathwell on fishery peg 22. He fished a method feeder to the island to catch the lakes Barbel and the pole to catch the Carp later in the day. Steve was using 6 & 8 mm Pellet as bait.

Bart Bonito ran Steve a close second with his bag of 113lb 12oz. Bart fished a pole for the start of the match and then switched to a feeder using red maggot on the hook while feeding fishery micro’s later.
Third man was Sean Leatherland with 83lb 6oz. Sean fished his pole at top 2 plus 3 sections, using double red maggot and expander pellet on the hook while loose feeding red maggot.

Our fourth place man was Andy Frankum with 73lb 1oz. Andy was fishing three lines, one midway to the island and margin swims left and right of the platform. He fed caster and groundbait and used worm or double caster on the hook to take his fish.

A big thank you this week to Richard Darbon and Ray Burton for assisting at the draw and Adrian and Tracy, who weighed in recorded and the results, no mean task with multiple weighs per angler!
